When someone asks about an interment of ashes, it’s usually during a tender and emotional time. The big funeral may have already taken place, or perhaps there wasn’t one at all. Either way, this moment matters. It’s a chance to pause, gather, and gently say goodbye in a way that feels right.
As a celebrant, I can help you create a meaningful and personal interment of ashes that honours your loved one and supports the people who are there.
What Is an Interment of Ashes?
An interment of ashes is the placing of cremated remains into their final resting place. This might be in a cemetery plot, a family grave, a memorial garden, a columbarium wall, or on private property where permitted.
Sometimes it’s a quiet moment with just two or three people. Other times it’s a larger gathering of family and friends who weren’t able to attend the original funeral. There’s no “correct” size or format. What matters is that it feels right for you.
How I Can Support You
Every family is different, and so is every interment. My role is to guide you through the process and create a ceremony that feels thoughtful, respectful, and true to the person you are remembering.
